In 2024, Carter and Marlow Wright, then aged eight and seven, began working alongside award-winning illustrator Stu Thornton to create the Poo-Heads book series.
Their dream was simple: create a real book and sell it at their local school fete.
What happened next grew into something far bigger than they ever imagined.
Poo-Heads has now reached young readers, schools, libraries and children’s hospitals across Australia, with the boys’ story featured by ABC News, The Australian, Woman’s Day and 7NEWS.
Parents, grandparents, teachers and allied health professionals regularly tell us that children who usually avoid reading are connecting with Poo-Heads differently. They see kids their own age creating real books, and begin to believe that their own ideas could become something incredible too.
Books by kids. For kids. Kids inspiring kids.
