Now More Kids Are Joining the Adventure

Poo-Heads was created in 2024 by Far North Queensland brothers Carter and Marlow Wright, who were only eight and seven years old when they began turning their wild ideas into a real book series.

Now they’re helping other kids discover what their own imaginations can do.

Through the Poo-Heads StoryMakers Club, young creators from across Australia have joined online sessions with Carter, Marlow and award-winning illustrator Stu Thornton. Together, they’ve explored how to create unforgettable characters, build exciting storylines and turn an idea into a finished book.

StoryMakers also gives kids a behind-the-scenes look at the business of books, from developing and illustrating a story to publishing, promoting and selling it.

Some of these young StoryMakers have already helped dream up new characters, ridiculous powers and story ideas for Book 3: Cookie Cruise Ship (coming out soon!).

When young readers discover that Poo-Heads was created by children their own age, the story becomes even more meaningful. They can see themselves in Carter and Marlow’s journey and begin to imagine what their own characters, stories and ideas could become.

That’s what Poo-Heads is all about: kids inspiring kids.

In 2027, we plan to grow the Poo-Heads StoryMakers Club, run more creative sessions and give even more kids the opportunity to help shape future books in the Poo-Heads series.

The Poo-Heads StoryMakers Club is still in its early stages, but we have some very big ideas for what comes next.

Parents and guardians can join the Poo-Heads mailing list to receive book news, free activities and updates about future StoryMakers sessions, workshops and opportunities for kids to get involved.
